UAC now run regular activity weekends. A brilliant way to spend the weekend with climbing, gorge walking and mountain walking during the days and restaurants bars and nightclubs in the evenings!.

The activities are designed to suit a range of abilities so don’t worry if you’ve never tried climbing before. All specialist equipment is provided. However we will send out a recommended clothing list when you book.

This weekend is ideal for singles and couples, a great way to make new friends.

Hereford is approximately three hours by train or car from London , or around one and a half hours from Bristol or Birmingham .

This price is based on two people sharing. If you’re booking on your own we will automatically allocate you someone to share with. Single rooms are available at a extra cost.

Friday night

2pm onwards – check into Hotel
7.30pm –Drink Reception and weekend introduction
8.45pm – 2 course dinner in hotel
10pm onwards- Champagne bar / night club (Play Night Club)

Gorge Walking – Trek through rivers, climb over boulders, and dive off waterfalls. This activity includes many aspects of other activities; such as climbing, walking, crawling, swimming and jumping off waterfalls into pools. It is excellent for people of all ages and abilities, and a great activity for group / teamwork.

We are proud of our reputation of excellent safety standards, we look after everyone by ensuring that every one that goes in the gorge wears a B.A. (buoyancy aid) and a helmet, these are provided by us.

Rock Climbing – We have excellent climbing sites with qualified instructors that can take you through beginner or advanced packages.

This activity will challenge your fear of heights.

Climbing involves scaling a rock face attached to a rope, climbing as high as you can before being lowered down by an instructor or a friend.

Abseiling is similar to rock climbing, however when you have completed your climb you lower yourself down controlling your descent. (A safety rope is attached to you at all times and is controlled by your instructor).

With this activity, you can do as little or as much as you want to.

Hill / Mountain Walk –Your walk will be along one of the many scenic paths on the Black Mountains or Brecon Beacons stopping off at one of the many Public Houses for Sunday lunch.

The Green Dragon Hotel

Behind an impressive facade added in 1857, this historic coaching inn dates back to the 16th century. Our hotel has long been Hereford ‘s most popular hostelry offering a warm welcome and informal atmosphere. The hotel is just across the street from the city’s famous cathedral. Our 83 rooms can be either smoking or non smoking (on request), and are all with en-suite facilities, hair dryer, Tea and Coffee making facilities, early morning calls available as well as newspaper delivery and laundry service. Our rooms are scattered over three upper floors, and have all the high ceilings, thick walls, and squeaky floors! Enjoy a romantic meal in Shire’s Restaurant and maybe a glass or two of wine to complement it!
